Routes worth seeing
Mount Voras is a mountain range located on the border between Greece and North Macedonia and extends across both countries. It forms the dividing line of the prefecture of Pella to the south, with Morihovo of North Macedonia to the north and extends to the borders of the prefecture of Florina. It is the third highest mountain in Greece, with the highest peak being Prophet Ilias with an altitude of 2,524 meters. Voras is connected to the east by the mountains Pinovo (2,156 meters) and Jena (2,182 meters), which are part of the same mountain range. It is covered by oak, beech and pine forests. At its highest peak there is a small church, a monument to Serbian fallen of the First World War. Northwest of Orma Almopia stretches the Black Forest Voras with dense vegetation.
The dominant form of land cover (about 91%) belongs to the category of forests and woodlands which include scrublands, grasslands as well as bare and rocky areas. The largest percentage of the area (about 80%) belongs to the ownership of the Greek state, while the remaining 20% shows a variety of forms of ownership (co-owned, communal, private). The following biotic features have been recorded in the area:
